The Skeena River is one of the world’s remaining wild salmon strongholds and is under immense pressure from a foreign company’s Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) development.

Olympic National Park
I went looking for spawning salmon and found a fishing bobcat. Standing on the bridge watching the fish struggle upstream, I just happened to catch this Hoh inhabitant catching breakfast. You never know what you might come across even on a quiet snowy morning.

Save Our Wild Salmon
The Pacific Northwest used to be home to the greatest salmon rivers in the world. They became part of Northwestern identity. But four dams on the Lower Snake River have been blocking salmon passage, pushing the fish to the brink of extinction.
People are fighting back. The generation that remembered the Snake River before it was dammed, and those who have experienced the salmon’s decline are speaking out. Join them in telling the government to remove those dams, save the salmon, and protect the Pacific Northwest way of life >> http://ift.tt/2gGRS5H #freethesnake

Support Bruce Power
The following came across my desk earlier today. I think Bruce Power does enough to have our support on this matter. Please take the time to make your decision. Who knows, one day they may own Maple Hill or at least support a better fishway than what is sitting up there right now. Bruce Power may even help convince the Ministry of Natural Resources that we don’t need a new set of turbines on Denny’s Dam in the future. Bruce Power also feeds a good majority of the steelhead that are stocked in the Saugeen annually. Take the time to fill out the link below if you care. Below is a link to an online petition supporting Bruce Power to remain as an 8 unit Nuclear Power Facility. Please take a moment to show your support by signing this petition.
