On August 21, 2024 we lost Kirk Lund who passed while at Ontario Steelheaders Park. Kirk has made significant contributions since the very early days of the Ontario Steelheaders and their efforts to improve the fishery. He was an excellent fisherman, conservationist, volunteer and all around good guy who was always ready to lend a hand, he had a prominent presence at the park. Kirk suffered two strokes but still fished the river as much as he could. Kirk, you will be sadly missed. There will be a memorial for Kirk and everybody will be advised here and on the Facebook page.
I have only known Kirk for 4 years but the last time Pat and I went to the park and he wasn’t there to greet or have “coffee” with us in the morning it was a very weird feeling. I always looked forward to seeing him and I will miss him being there. Hopefully he is reunited with his old fishing buddies and having a great old time.
