As a member of Ontario Steelheaders you are joining a group of men, women and children who enjoy the fishing, camping and the great outdoors. Ontario Steelheaders membership allows you and your family to support the rehabilitation, egg collection, hatchery operations (in partnership with the Lake Huron Fishing Club), and smolt release.
Get Involved
You can get involved with as much as your schedule allows. Here are some of the ways you can get involved as a member:
- Engage in member meetings and voice your opinions on topics concerning local fisheries and headwaters.
- Aid in the egg collection process.
- Get involved with the fish hatcheries located in Port Elgin and Kincardine, Ontario
- Participate in stream rehabilitation and smolt release.
- Compete in our family oriented, fun focused bi-annual fish derbies at Dennys Dam Park.
- Stay on top of potential laws and agreements concerning local fisheries and Ministry of Natural Resources.
- Ontario Steelheaders has representatives collaborating on a number of advisory committees where we express the concerns and viewpoints of our members.
Improve Your Fishing
If you want to improve at something it’s always best to be with people who share that passion and who have the experience to help you grow. There are many Ontario Steelheaders that can be considered experts at targeting salmon and steelhead rainbow trout, especially in the Saugeen.
